Adolescents and Teens
Adolescence can be a very challenging time for teens and their families. Although developmentally it is a particularly wonderful time of exploration and curiosity for teens, sometimes things do not go as expected. Adolescence is not without its challenges.
Individual therapy and family therapy can make this time so much easier to negotiate. Jennifer creates a safe environment for adolescents. She helps teens identify their feelings and express them in healthy, productive ways rather than denying them, and in the process, hurting loved ones or hurting themselves. Like all of us, teens come by their feelings naturally; it is what they do with them that can be problematic. Jennifer co-creates a plan to help change negative behaviors, improve teens' lives, and in so doing, improve the lives of those around them. One of the goals is to understand and deal with feelings in a productive way. This step alone is a lifetime skill that can alter the course of adolescents’ lives and the choices they make.
