Jennifer is a psychotherapist with a private practice focusing on adolescents, parents and families. Her office is located in Kentfield, California. She holds additional certifications and trainings from John F. Kennedy University and Stanford University in the treatment of eating disorders. Jennifer is certified in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma.
She is the founder of Being Adept, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse among adolescents. Jennifer received her education and training in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended UC Berkeley and received her Masters in Counseling Psychology at Dominican University of California.

Workshop Description: National statistics show a troubling rise in alcohol and drug use beginning in early middle school. The presenters provided relevant national data, including: root causes, risk and protective factors, and the effects on student learning and well-being. The Being Adept approach was demonstrated with a sample lesson including a five-minute video showing the effects of chemical substances on the brain. Being Adept provides a turnkey procedure for implementing a prevention program in a middle school or high school, including both the high touch and low touch approaches. The presentation concluded with a Q and A session with three panel members.
